speaker-0 (00:04.6)
So Melissa, we're closing on our house this week and after 32 years of all the stuff that you just collect naturally, we're gonna downsize all of that to fit into a 400 square foot RV with our two doodles.
speaker-1 (00:23.874)
Yeah, and by the end of this episode, you are gonna see and understand why we went from someday we might do something like this to why we are doing this now and really what it takes to downsize a a house like this, even though we've only been here four years and we got rid of a lot of stuff the other time too.
speaker-0 (00:43.906)
Yeah. Well, if you're new to our podcast and you're just joining us for the first time, I'm Scott and this is Melissa. We're the Sunshine Travelers and we decided that we would turn this into a new season. So we've had a podcast now for about three and a half years, a little more than that, and we have traveled all over the world. But to us this felt like a brand new season. So not only are we going to be doing
and traveling more of North America, but the way that we travel is changing. The fact that we've gotten rid of our home, we're gonna travel with our dogs, everything just felt like this was a new season for us. And so we have decided to start season two of the Sunshine Travelers podcast.
speaker-1 (01:31.4)
And on top of that, you retired earlier this year.
speaker-0 (01:33.858)
Yes. Yeah, at the end of March I retired. So, you know, we have the flexibility to hit the road and to travel full time. The biggest thing was our dogs, like we didn't want to leave behind. And so the best way to do that is to travel in an R V where we take their home with us everywhere that we go.
speaker-1 (01:57.666)
So you have to say this. Go back down. You have to say this. Same travel, new home. This is Sunshine Travelers. But I wanted you to say or we are the Sunshine Travelers. How about that? Okay.
speaker-0 (02:12.376)
So same travel. New We're the Sunshine Travelers.
speaker-1 (02:14.424)
Home.
speaker-1 (02:18.232)
So we'll say that every single episode. Okay. So now let's let's discuss this before we do it. Why a new season? Why are we calling this season two? Okay. I guess we already did that. So we can skip that. Okay. We could s we could say that. Okay.
speaker-1 (02:39.31)
So it really feels strange to say that we will not own a home anymore. We have actually been homeowners since we were like twenty one years old. w with only like either hours or a span of a few days in between. And so to not to say that we don't have a home. and then when you're buying a home, changing, you know, you already have your new address or or whatever. So it's very strange to say
we won't have a permanent place.
speaker-0 (03:11.512)
Yeah, I think a lot of people would agree that like, you know, you're almost told that the goal in life is to buy a home, right? Especially in in North America. and in this case, we've owned many homes. this was like our fifth fifth home. Yeah. Sixth if you include the the cabin that we had for a while. And so we've owned many homes. We've been there, we've done that, but I think this is the season of our life where we're ready to say, you know what?
a home is where we are and where we create memories. It's not a physical dwelling or a residence or an address. And so that's where we are at this point and we're gonna make our home on the road with us and who knows, maybe one day we will have a physical address again, but that's just not a priority for us.
speaker-1 (04:10.54)
And the funny thing is, I it wasn't like in our case, we have talked about this for years. Now, you know, we know it well, so so now of course we love to travel.
And so traveling being a part of our lives, we've always known now where that would be, would it be short trips, we had the dogs, like Scott mentioned, and so that factored into a big part of this. so it was almost as if over the course of our last trip, and then after getting home, it was like, you know what, maybe we should consider traveling in RV full time.
speaker-0 (04:50.114)
Well let's I mean let's talk about that trip, right? We were gone for three months. We were in Europe and Africa, and during that three month t trip we talked about it several times is you know, what are all the things that we have that we're missing that we don't have with us? And we don't feel complete because they're not with us. And the only answer that we could come back with was our dogs.
speaker-1 (05:18.69)
Because big part of that, because we saw our daughter and her family a couple of times, we could talk to our son and FaceTime with our son, but you can't even do that with animals. It's a different relationship even when you're at home. Yes, they're right there, but it's not like you talk to them and communicate them. you know, when you're traveling like that.
speaker-0 (05:36.908)
Yeah. And so during that three month time we just realized that all the stuff that we've communic all the all the stuff that we have accumulated, it really just doesn't have much meaning to us because of our passion for travel. We would much rather be on the road traveling, seeing new destinations, meeting new people, you know, learning about new areas and being able to come back and share that with you than we would
to just have this house and a bunch of stuff. Don't get me wrong, we love Amelia Island. We this has been kind of a paradise for us and I think we've enjoyed our season here. But now it's time to move on.
speaker-1 (06:20.67)
And one thing I wanted to add about when we were traveling, and you when we stayed at so many different places. you know, we moved around so often. What do you need? You need your clothes, you need your toiletries, you need your technology. And other than that, the places you're staying. You have a place to sleep, you might have a place to cook, then you have your transportation, whether you rent a car or whatever. That's really all that you need. and of course you can we both got
various pieces of clothing or toiletries or stuff along the way and you can get that along the way. And so it really became have you even I think the question you asked was, have you even thought about all the stuff that's in your cabinets, that's in your drawers?
speaker-0 (07:00.834)
Yeah, w we did that last time that we moved. We had boxes that we hadn't opened from the last time that we moved. And we just asked ourselves, do we even want to open these boxes? Because we haven't missed any of this stuff in the years that we've been here. And so we did try to get rid of a lot of things last time. We knew that we were going from the two previous houses being a lot larger and to a slightly smaller house here in Florida. And so we did get rid of a lot of things, but
Quite honestly, I think that it ended up being a lot easier than we thought it would be. Now, thankfully, we sold our house furnished. So the new owners are taking the furniture with the house. And th I think that makes it a whole lot easier, so we don't have to worry about that. But quite honestly, there was nothing in here that we were tied to. And Melissa, you wanna talk a little bit about you know from
From the perspective of staging our houses over the years, why that hasn't tied us to furniture?
speaker-1 (08:03.674)
Well, our daughter came and helped about a week or so ago and she was like, is it weird to like get rid of all your stuff and be giving it away? Now I didn't give it away in the sense of I want you to take this, like if there were things that she wanted, our daughter-in-law wanted, even her friends wanted, and our other family members wanted, then I was happy to pass those along. And I thought that was an interesting question and I thought about how that's kind of how it was with staging. So I would bring things in that I had staged with and then I and I would then let them go back out to another stage.
I would let them go to the like the design and decor antiques place that I had. And so if it was just things that didn't necessarily have sentimental value, then they're just they're things and you can replace them. now there are a few things in this case that we have packed away and put away, a few pictures and you know, books or photographs or things like that, but it's not like
It's a ton of stuff. That's th that's the thing. It's not as much as you think it would be.
speaker-0 (09:03.554)
Yeah, I mean one of the things that we pride ourselves on is we're very authentic and truthful in what we share with you. We do have a v very small storage unit that we have kept for things that are you know have a lot of sentimental value or that we felt that it would be really difficult to replace if we decided to, you know, have a house again someday, or, you know, maybe things that might be really
Like you could replace them but they would be really expensive. Like I you know, I decided to keep some of my tools because yes, I could rebuy them again, but there would be a huge cost in doing that. So but so far we haven't even filled up half of that storage unit and
speaker-1 (09:50.786)
And I think what you said, it kind of gives you a little bit of freedom to if you're not sure, I'm ready to part with this.
to hang on to it, to put it in that storage unit. And we did a 10 by 10. We may even go down to a 10 by 5 because we obviously don't want to just shovel out cost of storage. But it does give you what I would call almost like a little safety net. Now there are things too though that maybe we held on to that we thought were sentimental, but now we could part with those. I'll give you some example. We have all this stuff that we're kind of like selling and we have a staging area. So for example, we've held on to this Royal Wedding Coke bottle.
speaker-0 (10:30.667)
Yeah, let's say it's nineteen eighty one or something like that. Yeah, nineteen eighty one. And I've had this since nineteen eighty one.
speaker-1 (10:40.142)
But in this case you're like, okay, I can let this go now. but there are things that we did, you know, decide to save and for me it ended up being more of the things that like maybe belong to my parents that I've had forever than than stuff that was mine that I can let that
speaker-0 (10:57.39)
Well, so one of the things I I want to go back to that trip again and and kind of bring us back to that. But one of the things that was really I think impactful to us and made us really think about this is we talked about so many things that, we wish we had Rupert and Lottie here with us, our dogs. they would absolutely love this.
speaker-1 (11:21.76)
Especially when we would see people walking their dogs. I've always said that about London and the UK specifically with Rupert, like how much he would enjoy just running, in parks and things there. But any time we would go somewhere and we would see people with their dogs, we would think, they they would enjoy that. That would be neat to have them come along.
speaker-0 (11:41.698)
Yeah. And then the other thing about the trip is we mostly stayed in apartments that we booked off booking dot com. And so, you know, these apartments were not huge spaces and we lived out of these spaces for those three months. And so I think for us, or even some hotel rooms that we s you know, stayed in. So I think for us we were like, you know, did we feel overly confined in those spaces? And the answer was no, because
We spent a lot of time outside of those spaces as well. And so in the RV, you know, we have 400 square foot that I talked about of living space in there. That's far bigger than any apartment that we stayed at on that trip. And now we're gonna have the freedom of a lot of outdoor spaces, places like national parks and state parks and things like that, that we're gonna visit and get to share these stories.
And maybe inspire you to go and visit these parks as well one day.
speaker-1 (12:44.172)
Yeah. And so I think w when we started asking the question, could we really live in a smaller space? Could we really live in an R V thinking about some of those places that you just talked about where you have, you know, the clothes that you need for that season, you have a little place to cook. we would go and get groceries there, just like we can do in the R V. It was like, yeah, you know what? I think we can actually do this.
speaker-0 (13:09.228)
And then
speaker-0 (13:13.046)
Let's see, we wanna we need to transition into where did the idea Okay.
So if you have any ideas on that.
speaker-1 (13:25.014)
So Scott, I guess coming back from that trip and having had these conversations, because I honestly don't even remember, like where did this idea of let's get living in an R V full time, where did that even kind of come from?
speaker-0 (13:41.722)
Well it came from you I can promise because I when when you actually threw this out to me in my mind we had a travel trailer about twenty years ago and it was a lot of pressed wood you know the mirrored finishes with the Starburst on them and stuff like that and in my mind that's what I thought an RV would be like.
speaker-1 (14:09.506)
You know, and that's one of those things. We ended up getting rid of that because we didn't end up camping as much. That was one of the things though that I kind of wished that we had renovated that. You know, it became a big craze to renovate that, strip all that down and make your own curtains and do your own painting. It just wasn't in time wise and and usage wise. and so
speaker-0 (14:32.204)
I think that came after we got rid of that. And not to mention that thing had a huge hole in the roof and I think the guy who bought it from us nearly stepped through it. So you know, that that wasn't the that was not gonna be the the place or the or the to really get us into full time lifestyle. But what happened is we had a few things going on and
speaker-1 (14:34.862)
And I was like
speaker-0 (15:01.506)
We were just we were a little bit frustrated at the time and because we wanted to figure out how to travel full-time, right? And we didn't want to leave the dogs. And so you started sending me videos of people who were living in an RV full-time. And there was a common denominator, is every one of these videos you sent me, they had bought a Brinkley
speaker-1 (15:29.287)
And you had never heard of a 'cause the R and V world has changed a whole lot.
speaker-0 (15:30.229)
I didn't know what a brinkley was.
It it's changed a lot since we had our travel trailer. I haven't kept up with it as much. Melissa started seeing it on social media. So I saw the inside of these brinkleys and I was like, that doesn't look like an RV. That that doesn't look like what I remember that travel trailer looking like. And so I started watching them myself and I was like, gosh, if that's what it looks like and that's what it feels like, and that thing looks really spacious.
More like a a small apartment versus an R V, yeah, we could definitely do that. And I think that's really where we started saying, okay, could we live in an R V?
speaker-1 (16:15.234)
Let's go look at Let's go like RV shopping. I agree because I also think if they looked like they did before, we're kind of not in a thing where we can like spend a lot of time renovating one or even know what we would want to do to renovate one. either. And so the other thing I was gonna say is you know what happens once you start looking at these videos online of the one. Then you see them all and then you start seeing them all. And so we started to go
speaker-0 (16:43.15)
Yep, my feed became an R V channel. and so we did, we went and looked at Now we had talked about 'cause one of my bucket lists was to rent an R V, drive across country, and go to a bunch of the national parks. Like that was something that I wanted to do. And we just kinda skipped that I guess.
speaker-1 (17:09.078)
But we just hadn't really had time.
speaker-0 (17:10.869)
Well, we haven't had time and also I was looking at like the RVs that you could rent. Yeah. And I was like, this isn't gonna give us a real feel of what it's like. Now there are some rental systems out there where you could rent from a private owner and maybe we could have rented a Brinkley and and and done this, but we didn't have the truck to do it. So really there was gonna be a commitment in there one way or the other.
and so we just decided that, you know what, from that trip, knowing that we can live in the small spaces and knowing that we don't need all the stuff that we have, let's just go for it.
speaker-1 (17:52.246)
And that's funny that you inter
And that's funny that you say, here's kinda like my well, far fetched, here's kinda like my bucket list thing, RV, travel to national parks, take a big long road trip. My thing has always been, I've always wanted like an airstream. I don't know why. I've always wanted airstream. I would see them on the side of the roads. Matter of fact, when we told my sister about this, she was like, are you getting an airstream? Because she knows I've always talked about this. But we didn't really look at them because we need we need something bigger than that right now. Maybe someday we could still do that.
speaker-0 (18:23.054)
To me, unless you're gonna get to into some really big dollars, it didn't feel like that you got a lot of space. And so whatever space you have, you know, down that alley in the center, that's what you had. And we were looking for something where it was big enough that our kids and grandkids could come and join us on the road and and be comfortable.
speaker-1 (18:55.594)
Even though you like, Why are we why are we always have to buy stuff for them? Why do we always have to plans for them?
speaker-0 (19:00.386)
I just got rid of I just got rid of a six seater golf cart that ninety percent of the time that it ever got drove, it only had two people in it.
speaker-1 (19:10.018)
Yes, but we enjoyed it while we were there. So we just decided that for now that was gonna be the route that we wanted to take as well. Do I need to go get those papers so I can show the papers? Sure.
speaker-0 (19:22.316)
Yeah, but hurry 'cause we're getting close to the
speaker-0 (19:44.59)
So let's talk a little bit how about how we decided what we wanted. Yes, we did see all the videos, but we felt we didn't want to make a decision based on other people's experience. We wanted to see what would work for us. you know, and
speaker-0 (20:06.284)
We wanted to see what would work for us. So, Melissa, we we went first one weekend. We decided we would go down to one of the local R V stores. There's there's several here in Jacksonville. And we went and we just kind of started talking to them about, hey, we've got this idea, we think we're we want to you know live in it full time.
we're gonna need room for ourselves, our dogs, and then we're gonna need the room for the family to come and friends to come and stay with us. Right? And so we just started asking questions about what what would we need in order to make that be real. And so they started showing us some different floor plans. And that's the key. That's where you have to start is with those floor plans, is what's gonna work for you. And you've got some examples there.
Like I printed out some of these floor plans based on you know the the trips that we had made to the dealership and the conversations that we had had and we really were looking at two different floor plans. One was a middle bunk room that could also be like an office because the the bunk lay down.
and the couch laid down into a bed, otherwise it was a flexible room. And then the second one was Melissa threw out the idea of a toy hauler. That was that kind of blew my mind. Why was she looking at a toy hauler? But once again, she was looking at all these videos and you had seen what other people had done with these toy haulers.
speaker-1 (21:49.542)
Yeah, basically what other people had done. So they're kind of designed so that you could put in motorcycles, you could put in four-wheelers, but they have them laid out in such a way that beds go up and down and couches go up and down, or you can take them out and bring in your own furniture. and it also had a second half bath. The one we ended up on send it had a second half bath. You could maybe add a washer and or a washer and dryer combo back there. So it just gave you a lot of flexibility. The other thing though is it had like a pattern.
patio space. And so you could lay that down if we get to somewhere nice and then the dogs can go out there without us having to carry, you know, dog fencing and give them just a little bit more flexibility than having to be on a leash. So I also want to say though, we didn't rule out we we didn't go we we or decided we're gonna do a brinkley from the get go. And even till the very end decision, there were still a couple of them on the list that they had on the lot that was like this might could work. Yeah.
until we found this certain floor plan.
speaker-0 (22:54.508)
Well, I mean let's talk about it. We got it down to I think three manufacturers on our short list. So it was the Brinkley, it was the Pinnacle, which is made by Jayco and then there was the Solitude, which was made by Grand Design. They're all fifth wheels. We knew that that we wanted the the premium luxury style fifth wheel because listen, this isn't just us going out on a a short vacation
for a couple of weeks and living in this thing. No, we're living in this full time. And so we wanted to make sure that we bought what was gonna be comfortable for us to live in full time.
speaker-1 (23:35.766)
Yeah, especially because we knew that we were trading the house for that. Yeah. So it might be different if you're not doing it full time.
speaker-0 (23:43.81)
And then I just very quickly, I won't want to just throw it out there and address it right off the bat. We understand that buying a RV is not the same as buying a house. An RV is a depreciating asset. We were fine with that. we talked to our financial advisor, we shared what we were doing. He thought it was a great idea for us and what the goals that we wanted to achieve. And so we did consider that in is that
You know, this is an investment that we're gonna get our money back or make more off of it when we sell it in the future. We know that it's gonna be worth less than what we paid for it and we're okay with that because it is allowing us to do the things that we want to do.
speaker-1 (24:26.51)
And not in this episode, but later. We are gonna talk about this is what this thing cost. And here's what we spent on the truck and this is why we had to have this particular truck. We're gonna get into some of those details in case you're curious because we do wanna be transparent about what this is like. And then the other thing is somebody's here. Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna I'm gonna leave it on, but I'm gonna plug it in.
speaker-0 (25:02.784)
How's it going? I'm so sorry for all the confusion.
speaker-0 (25:13.933)
Isn't it?
speaker-0 (25:17.549)
I don't
There's one installed on my wall in the closet. It it's a savior. I've got the bowl mount and that's exactly perfect for setups. Thank you. Well there you go. I thought about you know, they I've gotten in trouble because I listed a a compound bow and that's against community standards. So I got flagged on that. really? And then I listed a knee scooter.
And that's a medical device. So I got flagged again. So I had to be very careful and creative on how I listed this. That's why I put metal stand deer camp. It's the ed
speaker-1 (26:00.027)
the unusual thing.
speaker-0 (26:02.751)
A and reason I apologize, you know, for n not
speaker-1 (26:06.412)
Going back. I had one lady we need a baby cake for the
speaker-0 (26:10.2)
puppy. okay. And I said, I need it. The he's injured. He broke seven ribs. And I said, I can't come until this evening. Would you like a Venmo or Cash Apple does that? She goes, No, deposits aren't needed. Yeah. Then when I replied
speaker-1 (26:24.056)
The wife applied to her, she never responded.
speaker-0 (26:31.824)
I said, I'm okay, what's your address? You know it's five, I'm ready to come. Then immediately she marked it sold. And my daughter said, Yeah, Dad, Facebook, when they put it up, it's first come, first serve. Yep. You can't rely on people's words. And she said As a seller, I'll tell you, I get a lot of people saying, I'm interested in that and you're like, great, you wanna come pick it up? And then you never hear anything back. Right, and that's I want to
speaker-1 (27:00.13)
did not be that daughters like dad you that
speaker-0 (27:01.378)
Person.
speaker-0 (27:09.71)
I said anybody who would be interested in this
speaker-0 (27:18.604)
Ha ha ha.
speaker-1 (27:22.562)
for very
speaker-0 (27:23.232)
years there was a guy in our gun check group so I probably messed up
speaker-1 (27:31.178)
Arrested.
speaker-0 (27:32.75)
Agree to the price 'cause he was asking ridiculously low. Same thing. The minute I said I'll take it, no response. None.
So thank you. All right, well thanks again. Yeah. I'll put this to good use. All right.
speaker-0 (27:51.116)
Yeah, there's a little push.
speaker-0 (27:59.139)
Peguei.
And we
Sooner went. He got the reserve, but he didn't get the bid on the property.
speaker-1 (28:07.266)
Deadline.
speaker-0 (28:28.526)
Pull her around back.
speaker-1 (28:34.572)
And then the other thing that we are gonna talk about is like what it costs. So RV lifestyle is not a cheap or an inexpensive way to live, if you especially if you're traveling like we're gonna do, but it is going to be less resource intensive than it is to live here. we have a lot
speaker-0 (28:55.36)
say something on that is obviously with anything that you do there are levels that you can do it at right and you can be a budget RV traveler. That's not what we're tr aiming to be. So you know if you're watching this in a you know a couple of weeks or whatever and Melissa starts posting some of the numbers that's that's not our goal. That's not what we do. We're also not super luxury.
travelers, so we're not gonna stay at all of these resorts that have hot tubs, you know, right there on the site and stuff like that. It's not what we do. But you know, we're midline I would say. And yes we did buy a new truck. Yes we did buy a new R V and we'll talk a little bit about why we'd made those decisions.
speaker-1 (29:44.556)
Yes, so we will share
Here's what our numbers look like. Here's what the diesel look like. Here are these things. And some months will be more expensive than others. But we also live in a place where and it was very resource intensive. It's very expensive. It's a tourist destination. And then also just maintaining a house in a place where you could have hurricanes generators and flood insurance and and things like that is not in and hard water and having to have water softeners and it's not an inexpensive place to live either.
So you just want to go, so so I I do wanna like say this maybe in a minute, but let's see if we so we did this. Pretty much. We'll talk more about that. Okay, why the Brinkley we did this. That was we did that, right?
speaker-0 (30:32.406)
Yeah.
speaker-1 (30:34.562)
So you wanna do this and then we'll do it like white now? Okay. So go ahead.
speaker-0 (30:39.832)
So over the year the last three and a half years, we've traveled all across the globe. We've been in Asia, we've been to Antarctica, you know, we've been up to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. We have traveled all over the globe. but one of the things that people asked us is, why don't you travel more in the US? There's so much to see and to do here. And our answer has always been
We want to travel as far as we can while we can do it. but I would say that we still want to travel far, right? And we're headed just in a matter of weeks now. It's getting down to weeks to Germany. We're gonna do Christmas markets, we're gonna go and try to scout a potential Christmas market trip for next year that we can do as a group trip, and we'd love to have you join us on that. But
We're gonna do those things, but now, while we're in the middle because we have the ability and can travel full time, that's what we wanna do. And the way to do that and to still be with our dogs is to travel in North America with our R V. And that's just I mean, that is the nuts and bolts of how we got to the end of this decision.
speaker-1 (32:04.3)
Yeah. And why like why just do it? Like why now? Right? Because you hear a lot of people say, for the past year we've been doing this. For the past well, if you know us, it's just don't don't wait. We don't we don't want you to wait. We don't wanna wait. Like what are we waiting for? We may not have this opportunity and why not do it now? Like we didn't have any reason not to do it now. And so that's why. And so we just want, you know, if this is a lifestyle that you're interested in, when it
comes time for you to do that. We just want you to say, you know what? Let's just do it. Let's try it. Because the thing is, is if it doesn't work out, we can always try something else.
speaker-0 (32:44.792)
So Melissa's dad worked up until his age of retirement. he worked in the school system, and when he got ready to retire, they asked him to stay on as a contractor for another couple of years. and he did that. And then after he retired, he passed away three months later. So he never got to really retire. And we just said we don't want to be that, right? We don't want to work up to the point where
We can no longer do all of these things. it's not important to us. The things obviously are not important to us because we've gotten rid of most everything that we own. And so we're tired of collecting stuff and we want to collect memories and experiences. And so that's what we're doing.
speaker-1 (33:36.374)
Yeah, and we'll also we will show you the RV. Yeah. we're gonna do some videos of the RV once we get in. It's just been very chaotic and it's always been late or early. Are we doing all these things? So once we I don't know, pretty soon we'll we'll do a video of the RV. We're also gonna put our own spin. I'm gonna put my own spin on the decor and things like that. So we'll share that. That'll be a lot of fun.
speaker-0 (33:58.158)
Yeah. We got a lot of projects, but we also want to make sure that we have a lot of time to experience the places where we go, to meet the people who are there and to try to tell some of their stories along the way.
speaker-1 (34:11.542)
And so it will be more s like slow travel as well.
planning to be in a place longer so that we can ask you for, you know, if you see we're gonna be, I don't know, wherever, giving us your recommendations. You know, where should we eat? What are the things that we should miss? Is there a cool museum or ball of twine or whatever that we need to go check out? You know, of course national parks, of course state parks. We've actually stayed in two county parks since we've had the RV that are run by a parks and rec department that are been pretty incredible.
So there's all kinds of places that we can camp and stay. So we're super excited about that.
speaker-0 (34:54.198)
And we'll still do all of the group trips. We're still gonna do some bucket list travel next year. We're headed to the Norwegian fjords. So like we've got a lot of great things that are happening and we're excited about season two of the Sunshine Travelers podcast.
speaker-1 (35:11.276)
Yeah, and a part of that we will share what did we do with the RV? What did we do with the dogs? And we will definitely still share some of these destinations. We're gonna come on here and tell you about these Christmas markets that I'm so excited about. We're gonna tell you about the Norwegian fjords. We're gonna tell you about, I don't know, Branson, Missouri, or you know, all these national parks, all these places. So we'll definitely still have destination episodes. And here's the things that you need to see and do as well, not just RV.
speaker-0 (35:39.96)
Yep. All right, where was the
speaker-1 (35:49.56)
That was it. I already said that already. So I keep going out. Yeah. And I guess we could say that? And then what else after that? I think we're almost at the end. No, after that. Ladiander piget to come. I don't know if you if we said this enough or
speaker-0 (36:06.286)
There was something up here that you said.
speaker-1 (36:09.762)
We did it. Okay. So w was there anything else at the end?
speaker-0 (36:21.825)
The video.
speaker-1 (36:23.541)
Okay.
speaker-0 (36:26.55)
So in season two, we're gonna focus on doing a lot more video. We're really gonna be ramping up our YouTube channel. Now I will say that on the YouTube side, there's gonna be a lot more of the RV camping, camper stuff out there. but we still want our Sunshine Travelers podcast to be primarily focused on destinations and experiences.
And inspiring you to get out and travel. And so we're gonna have a lot of new destinations as we travel around North America and visit these places. And we hope that that will inspire you. Some people tell us, you know, listen, we'd love to watch your travels, there's no way we're gonna travel all over the world like this, right? Well maybe though that they will be inspired to go to some of these places that we visit in North America.
So we're excited about having more content from North America. We're excited about having the videos now to go with that. So do us a favor, go out and subscribe to our YouTube channel, help us get that built up. And we're just we're looking forward to carrying you with us on this next part of our adventure.
speaker-1 (37:43.822)
Okay. So but then there was something about what the next was gonna be.
speaker-1 (37:57.654)
Open life budgets. We already talked about that. Next week.
speaker-1 (38:09.646)
if you wanna do that 'cause we don't know what we're gonna talk about. Right? Yeah.
speaker-0 (38:23.758)
think that's good for where we're at.
speaker-1 (38:25.166)
How do how did you end? 'cause I wanna say one more thing. Why would we don't pick it off? I want to say one more thing. wherever you want to go. Okay, okay. And then well, this may not fit 'cause then you talked about subscribing to YouTube and stuff like that. well we can talk about that later. Scott, what's so interesting about this is you're right. We've
speaker-0 (38:31.032)
Mm-hmm.
speaker-1 (38:48.812)
People might be interested in these one-off destinations that we've been to, Hong Kong or Australia or these different places. But it's so interesting that what since we started it was so interesting that once we started announcing this, three of my very best friends from over the years are like, we want to do that somewhat.
Three of my very best friends from over the years are like, we want to do that someday. Two of them are teachers and so they're like, when we retire, we're gonna do this. And then one of our neighbors is like, I can't see myself going to all the places that you've been, but I really would like to investigate the idea of doing what you're doing now. So I'm really excited about that. And I'm excited to share what is actually like traveling with the dogs, what they like, what they don't like, what's working, because that's one thing that I don't see. People are like, here's my dogs, but then what are the day today? How does
this work? How do you get your dog food? How do you go to the vet? How do you do all these things that I'm gonna have to f how do you do all these things that I'm gonna have to figure out? So we are gonna see you down the road.
Okay, yep. So it ended up being too
